Our Creation stories bring us home to who we are. We call our Land Turtle Island, for we hold deep reverence for Turtle Medicine and its reminders of how we walk in right relationship with all beings. Turtle holds all of the 13 Moons on its back, the wisdom of the Sky reflected through its body. When we hold both the Earth and Sky as sacred, we remember that we, too, are part of this wholeness and all of Creation supports our path here.
There are 13 Moon phases within our 12 month calendar year, however due to the colonization of our original calendar, the extra Moon occurs every 2.7 years.

In many Indigenous cultures, the Moon is called Grandmother. She is part of our first family, one who guides us deeper within. She is an elder who invites us to reflect and influences the tides and energies that flow within and around us.
The moon is a symbol of mystery and enchantment. Just as she goes through distinct phases, so do we – each phase offering unique opportunities for growth, self-reflection and alignment with our inner selves
It is during the New Moon that we dream a new world into being. It is during the Full Moon that all is illuminated.
Both days of the month are times of sacred honoring and culmination. During these times, Grandmother Moon pulls on our sacred waters, awakening our inner wisdom and aligning us with the cycles of creation.
